Mr. Witherspoon is an experienced Process Engineer and Capital
Project Manager with strong analytical,
problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. He also has a strong
conceptual and practical understanding of
petroleum refining processes, natural gas processing (including
cryogenics), and other major chemical
processes and is extremely proficient with process simulation
programs such as Pro/II and AspenHYSYS.
Mr. Witherspoon’s areas of expertise include distillation,
hyrdotreating, catalytic reforming, isomerization and
polymerization, alkylation, amine treating, sulfur recovery,
cryogenic separation, gas treating, heat-exchangers
and fired heaters, pumps and hydraulics, piping systems, and
compression. Areas of special interest and
expertise include carbon fibers, biofuels and bioenergy, renewable
energy, and clean energy technologies.
Mr. Witherspoon has performed extensive process design and detailed
engineering design for all aspects of oil
refining and natural gas processing such as PFD design and review,
P&ID design and review, vessel and
equipment sizing and specification, detailed vessel and equipment
design, etc. Additionally, he has a high level
of experience in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA’s), Pre-Startup Safety
Reviews (PSSR’s), and other Process Safety
Management programs and procedures. His work has added significant
value to his clients’ reliability and
profitability.
